(ANSA) - ROME, 21 OTT - The youngest person identified in the shocking youth riots in Milan at the weekend is 11 years old, police said Wednesday.
Videos capturing individuals during last weekend's unrest in Milan have gone viral on social media.
The Carabinieri have identified two minors: an 11-year-old Italian boy—the youngest among those identified—who was tracked down at his school in the Barona district, on the southwestern outskirts of Milan; and a 16-year-old, located in Desio, in the Brianza area.
The younger boy, who is in his second year of middle school, allegedly entered the Fusaro shop during the looting in the city centre on Sunday.
In an Instagram video, he can be seen leaving the store carrying several belts.
The 16-year-old, meanwhile, was filmed on Saturday wearing a Carabinieri cap.
He faces charges of devastation, looting, theft, and showing contempt for the Armed Forces.
Some 270 people were stopped and taken to the police station during the rioting, looting and clashes with police, of whom 80% were minors.
Fourteen police were hurt. (ANSA).
