Solana’s tokenized stocks now have more than 1.5 million holders, putting the network ahead of Robinhood Chain for the first time since July. The change follows an October gain of more than 260,000 holders, as expanded stock listings and access through established apps helped lift Solana’s count. BNB Chain still holds the overall lead.
Key takeaways
- Solana has overtaken Robinhood Chain’s roughly 1.48 million tokenized stock holders.
- BNB Chain remains first, with 1.93 million holders.
- Solana accounts for about 29% of the market’s 5.13 million holders.
- Backpack Securities plans to expand Solana listings from 200 stocks to 10,000.
Solana’s tokenized stocks move ahead of Robinhood Chain
Holder data put Solana above 1.5 million, compared with approximately 1.48 million for Robinhood Chain. The gap between them stands at around 23,000 holders.
Both networks remain behind BNB Chain’s 1.93 million holders. Across all networks, the total is 5.13 million, giving Solana a share of about 29%.
Ownership is concentrated on those three networks. Base and Ethereum trail well behind, with fewer than 80,000 tokenized stock holders each.
More listings and familiar apps support October growth
New stock offerings and easier access through wallets and trading apps have driven much of Solana’s October growth. The network added more than 260,000 holders during the month alone.
In September, Backpack Securities and Sunrise added 20 tickers on Solana, including Nike, Micron and Moderna. Those additions widened the selection of consumer and healthcare stocks available on the network.
Backpack CEO Armani Ferrante has outlined a much larger expansion: taking the stock lineup from 200 to 10,000 listings as the next step toward bringing the entire stock market to Solana.
Access has expanded alongside the catalog. Users can buy and trade Solana’s tokenized stocks through Raydium, Jupiter and Phantom, while Kraken Wallet offers more than 700 xStocks. These channels place stock exposure inside apps already used for other onchain activity.
SEC framework preceded the million-holder milestone
The SEC introduced a five-year conditional framework for tokenized stock trading on September 17. Solana’s holder count was below 1 million at that point and crossed the threshold within about a week.
Much of the subsequent increase to more than 1.5 million holders came after that milestone. The sequence places the regulatory framework ahead of the million-holder crossing and the network’s October expansion.
Robinhood and Solana draw holders through different channels
Robinhood Chain’s July lead came from retail traders already using Robinhood who wanted onchain exposure to stocks they were following. Meme-stock enthusiasm helped push its holder count above Solana’s at the time.
Solana’s holder growth is spread more broadly across decentralized exchanges, wallets and third-party issuers, with no single app accounting for the bulk of it. Robinhood Chain retained its lead from July until the latest ranking change and still has around 1.48 million holders.
