Mitchell Robinson left the New York Knicks to join the Boston Celtics before the start of the new NBA season.
The 28-year-old played a key role in helping the Knicks win the championship last season, but his focus now lies fully on the Celtics.
However, Knicks fans still have a lot of love for him, and one of them seems to even think that Robinson still plays for them.
Mitchell Robinson calls a fan ‘fake’ and ‘stupid’ for thinking he still plays for the Knicks
Robinson played his part for the Knicks last season, but it looks like he has well and truly moved on now after joining the Celtics.
The two teams have had very different starts to the season. The defending champions have lost each of their first two games, while Boston are 1-1.
Their second game was actually against each other, and Robinson came out on top with the Celtics.
In an Instagram Story after the game, the centre revealed that a fan came up to him and said, ‘we lost tonight’, which made him think the supporter still thought he played for the Knicks.
Robinson hit back at the fan, calling them ‘fake’ and ‘stupid’.
He said: “Aye, tell me why a fan, bro, said that ‘we lost tonight’? I think he still thinks I play for the Knicks.
“I’m like: ‘You dumb m***********. You are a fake fan, bro.’
“I’m out here in Boston, just having the time of my life. You know what, bro? That n**** is stupid as a b****. No, n****, we won!”
That has led to a few funny reactions on social media, with some fans thinking Robinson is firing shots at his former club.
One supporter tweeted: “This is basically Mitch Saying ‘you ain’t won since you let me go.”
Another joked: “Knicks are going to withhold his ring when he visits.”
“Bro hates the Knicks,” said another.
