HiHome Appliances has opened a new store at The Hub Karen in Nairobi, expanding its retail presence in Kenya with a range of household appliances and electronics from more than 30 brands.
The outlet adds to the company’s stated network of six branches, four in Nairobi and two in Nakuru, as it seeks to reach customers shopping for products for their homes.
The store stocks brands including LG, Midea, Hisense and Vaughan, covering products intended for everyday household use. HiHome is offering discounts on selected products to mark the opening, while the first 50 customers to make a purchase will receive a free gift.
HiHome adds a new outlet to its Kenyan retail network
Edwin Kariuki, HiHome’s store manager at The Hub Karen, said the mall’s location and customer base informed the decision to open the branch. He said the retailer aims to combine competitive pricing with customer service, with staff available to help shoppers identify products suited to their needs.
The company also offers next-day delivery for larger appliances and installation for selected items, services that can influence where customers choose to buy bulky household equipment.
The opening gives HiHome another physical location in Nairobi, where it operates four of its six reported Kenyan branches.
The Hub Karen expands its specialist retail offering
Jacobus Visser, mall manager at The Hub Karen, said HiHome strengthens the shopping centre’s specialist retail offering by adding a wider selection of home appliances, particularly refrigerators and freezers. He said the mall aims to maintain a curated mix of retail, leisure and entertainment businesses that responds to customers’ needs.
The opening follows other specialist retail developments covered by TechTrendsKE at the mall. In July, OPPO opened an Experience Shop at The Hub Karen, combining smartphone sales with product demonstrations, accessories and customer support. The two openings involve different product categories, but both add dedicated retail outlets to the mall’s existing offering.
TechTrendsKE’s previous coverage of appliance retail has also examined how brands combine physical stores with online sales, delivery and installation services. Samsung’s direct-to-consumer online store in Kenya, launched in partnership with local retailer Housewives Paradise, provides another example of how appliance purchases can extend beyond the shop floor. HiHome’s new branch adds a physical purchasing option.
Delivery, installation and opening offers
HiHome is positioning the new outlet around product choice, pricing and customer assistance. Its range of more than 30 brands gives shoppers access to several appliance and electronics manufacturers in one location.
The opening discounts and free-gift offer provide an initial incentive for customers to visit the store. Shoppers interested in larger appliances can also enquire about delivery arrangements, while those purchasing eligible products can confirm whether installation is available and what conditions apply.
