Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United striker Kingston Nkhatha has traded football headlines for a personal milestone, marrying Zimbabwean football executive Bridgette Mudhosi over the weekend.
The couple's union has drawn attention in both South African and Zimbabwean football circles, given their shared ties to the beautiful game.
Zimbabwean sports broadcaster Yvonne Tendai Mangunda confirmed the nuptials after attending the ceremony.
"Today I am at Kwekwe United CEO Bridgette Mudhosi and former Zimbabwe, Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport forward Kingston Nkhatha's wedding. A lovely all black affair," Mangunda wrote on social media, noting she had missed Mudhosi's bridal shower the previous weekend but made sure to be present for the big day.

Nkhatha's time at Amakhosi
Nkhatha arrived at Kaizer Chiefs from Black Leopards in July 2012, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Soweto giants. Prior to joining Amakhosi, the Zimbabwean forward had featured for Free State Stars, Carara Kicks, and Black Leopards in South African football.
He announced himself emphatically in the PSL, scoring on his league debut in August 2012 during a 6-0 thrashing of AmaZulu. His finishing ability made him a popular figure among Chiefs supporters during his time at the club.
Why he left Kaizer Chiefs early
His stay at Amakhosi was cut short when, in January 2015, Chiefs agreed to release him ahead of the expiry of his contract so he could move to SuperSport United. Football manager Bobby Motaung expressed gratitude for Nkhatha's service and wished him well on the next chapter of his career.
The early exit brought his time in Naturena to roughly two and a half seasons before he linked up with Tshwane's SuperSport United. He later returned to Zimbabwe to continue his playing career, having also represented Dynamos during his time at home.
With Mudhosi leading Kwekwe United in an administrative capacity, the couple brings a combined football pedigree that few sports marriages can match.
