Cornerback A.J. Terrell is on his way back to the Falcons secondary.
The Falcons announced on Wednesday that they have designated Terrell for return from injured reserve. Terrell has been out since suffering a groin injury in Week 2 of the regular season.
Terrell will be able to practice with the team for the next 21 days and can be activated at any point in that span. He would not be able to return this season if the window closes without him being activated.
C.J. Henderson was the initial replacement for Terrell in the lineup, but has been out since hurting his groin in Week 5. Terrell’s younger brother Avieon took over those duties last weekend.
Terrell had six tackles and a pass defensed before being injured this season.
