Footage from the shop's security system shows the woman browsing an aisle stocked with hair braids, picking one up and apparently consulting her phone's calculator app as she browsed. What happened next set social media alight.
A Tote Bag, a Braid and a Very Visible Camera
The woman reportedly removed a braid from its packaging and slipped it into the tote bag she was carrying. She then picked up a second bundle, still in its packaging, and appeared ready to repeat the same move.

It was at that precise moment that she glanced upward and noticed the security camera staring right back at her.
Her reaction was immediate. She let out a panicked "wueh," her eyes scanning the device mounted above, before she turned and walked away from the aisle with some urgency.
The entire sequence, equal parts tense and comical, was captured clearly on the shop's surveillance footage.
The clip spread rapidly across social media, drawing thousands of views and a flood of responses from users who found the moment both relatable and entertaining.
Many commenters reflected on the pressures of financial hardship, while others simply revelled in the awkwardness of the situation.

"She was just trying to see if they can fit in the bag. It is at that moment she knew she didn't need glasses to see the camera."
Gilberto Ouma:
"Let me not say much but close this update with a luhya proverb that says, 'An older woman who is ovulating doesn't wait for a man to put it in; she grabs and put it in herself.'"
The woman's identity has not been established, and it remains unclear whether the shop's owners took any further action following the incident.
