GAME NOTES
ABOUT THE GAME
- It’s homecoming in Fort Worth as TCU welcomes West Virginia looking to win its second straight off a bye week.
- Last week, the Horned Frogs earned a win thanks to a defensive showcase in the 122nd edition of The Revivlary against Baylor.
- TCU enters the matchup trailing the all-time series 8-6, but is coming off a victory in last season’s meeting in Morgantown. The road team has won the last four meetings in this matchup.
- West Virginia safeties coach Gabe Franklin previously worked with Andy Avalos at Boise State while he was the defensive coordinator with the Broncos.
- TCU has won four consecutive Homecoming games under Dykes, with wins over Kansas State, BYU, Texas Tech and Baylor.
- Through six games, TCU’ defense has allowed just eight touchdowns, the least in the power four and second in FBS.
- The Frogs defense held Baylor’s DJ Lagway to a completion percentage of 41.5, the lowest with 30+ attempts against TCU since 2016
- Jordan Dwyer has posted 11 career 100-yard receiving games, the second most among active FBS players.
BAYLOR NOTES
- In 2026, West Virginia is the only team in the nation to have two players who have run for 700 or more yards and the only team to have two players ranked in the top 10 nationally
- Geimere Latimer II is tied for No. 4 nationally in forced fumbles
- DJ Epps is ranked No. 1 nationally in yards per reception (25.27) and No. 20 in receiving yards (556) and touchdowns (4)
- Michael Hawkins Jr. has four games this season with multiple pass touchdowns and multiple rush touchdowns, the most such games in the FBS. That is already tied with Patrick Mahomes (2016) for the second-most in a single season in Big 12 history (Jalen Hurts, five in 2019)
- Cam Cook (833) and Michael Hawkins Jr. (749) have combined for 1,582 rush yards this season. That is the most combined rush yards of any FBS teammate duo in 2026 (next closest – Indiana’s Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr. with 1,218)
- Cook is ranked No. 5 nationally in rushing yards (833), No. 7 in rushing yards per game (119.0), No. 14 in all-purpose yards (133.57), No. 21 in rushing touchdowns (7) and No. 22 in total touchdowns (8)
