I don't know about you, but my taste doesn't quite match my budget. Somehow, almost by instinct, I'm drawn to the most expensive piece on the new-in page, happily adding a £300 basic tee to my (abandoned) shopping basket, all the while I'm still diligently carrying in my Tupperware lunch, overnight oats, and home-brewed coffee to the office to keep costs down. We millennials really knew what we were doing when we penned the phrase 'the math ain't mathing.'
Of course, I've been known to indulge in a payday treat or two; I've thrown caution to the credit card more than a few times in my life. But with bills to pay and a cozzie-livs crisis to catastrophise over, sorting through the literal and digital racks of the high street is where you'll more often than not find me.
So, I've put my truffle pig nose to good use and searched through the internet to find the most expensive-looking pieces on the high street this month. From some corduroy trousers from Massimo Dutti to a boho belt from Free People, here's what I found.
