The workforce management solutions provider Workday announced the launch of its Work Intelligence offering, as part of its Workday Rising 2026 event.
Drawing on Workday Skills Cloud, Work Intelligence breaks down jobs into tasks done by people, connects these to skills, and shows users which processes can be done wholly with AI, partially with AI, or without AI.
“Most companies can see headcount, reporting lines, and job titles, but not the tasks that make up each job. Work Intelligence closes that gap from inside Workday, where companies already keep their people, jobs, and skills data,” stated the company.
However, Workday emphasised the importance of keeping people in charge, and highlighted that its tool did not make people-related decisions.

As per the 2026 Workday Global Workforce Report, 76% of heavy AI users expect AI to create new career opportunities.
“The basic building block of work is shifting from the job to the task – and without that view, most companies are left guessing whether to hire, build skills, automate, or redesign roles, with no way to know which guess is right. Work Intelligence gives leaders the data to thoughtfully redesign roles, build careers, and help people grow into what’s next,” said Nikki Helmer, vice president, talent management and insights, Workday.
