SEREMBAN: The man suspected of murdering his wife, a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) officer, at their home on Oct 15 has been remanded for another seven days.
Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the suspect's initial remand, which began on Oct 16, expired today.
"The initial remand expired today. Police applied for an extension at the Seremban magistrate's court, which granted another seven days until Oct 29," he said when contacted.
The suspect had reportedly surrendered himself at the Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi police station in Sepang, Selangor, after his wife was found murdered at a government quarters unit along Jalan Kuarters KLIA, Nilai.
He was recently released from prison after serving time for a drug-related offence and was arrested before being remanded from Oct 16.
A post-mortem found that the 35-year-old woman died from pressure on her neck. Stab wounds were also found on her abdomen and cheek.
The case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
