ASTS stock has a bearish daily setup, with AST SpaceMobile trading below all three daily exponential moving averages and the lower Bollinger band. The hourly chart confirms that bias. However, oversold intraday readings complicate short-term timing without establishing a bullish case.

ASTS was trading at $46.795 as of 10:42 ET, down 9.07% versus the previous close. That previous close was $51.46 on October 12, 2026. Session volume stood at 203,096 shares so far. ASTS stock: daily structure sets the bearish bias
The daily averages are bearishly aligned: price is below the 20-session EMA at $57.48, followed by the 50-session EMA at $61.73. The 200-session EMA sits above both at $70.32. This ordering supports the bearish bias, rather than merely showing price below one average.
Meanwhile, daily RSI14 fell to 31.76 from 36.69 on the previous session’s candle. It is approaching oversold territory but remains above 30. The daily MACD line is -2.74, below its signal at -1.62. Its histogram declined to -1.12 from -0.71, leaving a negative gap between the line and signal.
Price also sits below the daily lower Bollinger band at $50.15. The mid-band is $58.6 and the upper band is $67.06. That position reinforces the downside imbalance, but it does not establish an imminent recovery. Daily ATR14 reads $4.53, providing a volatility reference rather than a directional signal.
Notably, price is below daily first support (S1) at $50.3, as well as the daily pivot at $52.48. Daily first resistance (R1) stands at $53.65. These levels derive from the previous completed daily candle and apply to the current session; S1 is overhead rather than support beneath price.
Hourly confirmation, with mixed short-term signals
The hourly averages also have a bearish alignment. Price is below the 20-hour EMA at $52.16, the 50-hour EMA at $55.25, and the 200-hour EMA at $59.7. Hourly RSI14 rose to 28.2 from 26.78 on the preceding candle, but remains oversold.
In contrast to that RSI increase, the hourly MACD histogram declined to -0.3 from -0.13. The line at -2.22 remains below its signal at -1.92. These signals are mixed at the indicator level, yet neither overturns the daily bearish structure.
Price sits between the hourly lower Bollinger band at $45.7 and mid-band at $51.92. It is below the hourly pivot at $47.09 and first resistance (R1) at $47.95, but above first support (S1) at $45.47. Hourly ATR14 is $1.54. The hourly pivot levels come from the previous completed hourly candle.
For execution context, price is above the 15-minute pivot at $46.47 and first resistance (R1) at $46.71. However, it remains below the 20-quarter-hour EMA at $50.17. The 15-minute RSI14 is oversold at 19.16, while the MACD histogram is negative at -0.71. Price is above the lower Bollinger band at $46.14 and first support (S1) at $46.09. The 15-minute ATR14 reads $0.77; its pivot levels use the previous completed quarter-hour candle.
Competition and valuation concerns in recent coverage
A Yahoo Finance report published before Tuesday’s open linked an approximately 5% pre-market decline to Piper Sandler‘s downgrade. It cited growing SpaceX competition and potential constraints on satellite launch availability. That reported pre-market move is separate from the current session’s decline.
Separately, Yahoo Finance’s pre-open valuation commentary questioned whether AST SpaceMobile’s balance-sheet assets could support its valuation. Another pre-open Yahoo Finance report said AST’s upcoming Ligado spectrum access remains subject to approvals and closing conditions. These are concerns and conditional developments, not completed outcomes.
Bullish and bearish scenarios
A bullish scenario requires price to hold above the 15-minute pivot at $46.47 and clear the hourly pivot at $47.09. The next overhead reference is hourly R1 at $47.95. Clearing those levels would strengthen the short-term case, but daily resistance remains consequential. The daily lower Bollinger band at $50.15 and S1 at $50.3 would then need to be reclaimed before the daily pivot at $52.48.
Conversely, a break below the 15-minute pivot at $46.47 would weaken that bullish case. Below the session low at $46.24 sit the 15-minute lower band at $46.14 and S1 at $46.09. The hourly lower band at $45.7 and S1 at $45.47 are the subsequent downside references.
Overall, ASTS stock stands above nearby quarter-hour levels but below the hourly pivot and the key daily references. ATR readings frame volatility across the three timeframes. Whether oversold intraday readings can accompany sustained price strength remains unresolved while the session is open.
