The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad has recovered Rs600,000 belonging to a financially struggling citizen who had saved the money for his son’s medical treatment but lost it in an online fraud.
An NCCIA official told on Sunday that the agency took prompt action on the citizen’s complaint and successfully recovered the amount, providing much-needed relief to the affected family. The official said the citizen had approached NCCIA Islamabad after losing his savings and lodged a complaint seeking help in recovering the money. The case was handled by NCCIA officer Waqar, who worked on the complaint and helped ensure the recovery of the amount. Expressing his gratitude, the affected citizen said he was a poor man and had saved Rs600,000 with great difficulty for the treatment of his ailing son.
I am a poor man and had kept this money for my son’s treatment. When I lost it, I was extremely worried because I had no other means to arrange such a large amount, he said. He said NCCIA Islamabad took his complaint seriously and helped him recover the entire amount.
I am very thankful to NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Mr Waqar for helping me get my money back. This amount means a lot to my family because it was meant for my son’s treatment, he added.
The citizen expressed satisfaction over the agency’s performance and appreciated the efforts of the officers involved in recovering his savings.
