Former MP and All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) chairman Madhu Yaskhi Goud alleged that officials who played key roles during the BRS regime were misleading Ministers in the Congress government, affecting its functioning and ability to communicate its achievements to the public.
He questioned how the administration could function effectively if Ministers were being given incorrect information by officials. Referring to coal issues in Telangana, he felt Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy himself had to intervene and conduct a review as the officials concerned failed to tackle it.
Mr. Madhu Yaskhi said that although many people acknowledged that the Congress government was functioning well and that the Chief Minister was performing effectively, the government had failed to publicise its achievements adequately. He cautioned against excessive dependence on the bureaucracy, saying it could prove detrimental to the government.
Manmohan Singh fellowships
Mr. Goud, who has been newly appointed as All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) chairman, said they plan to launch the Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellowship to recruit and train 100 professionals for a year. The fellows would contribute to policy research, political advocacy and public policy initiatives.
Outlining the AIPC’s approach, he said it would work on the principle of ‘Defend, Serve and Propose’. As a part of that, the organisation would provide free legal assistance, focus on public service initiatives and prepare evidence-based policy papers.
