Barcelona are monitoring Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi as Deco assesses potential reinforcements for the summer transfer window, according to a report from MARCA.
The 21-year-old Switzerland international has attracted interest from several leading European clubs following his impressive start at Villa, although a move away from the Premier League side is not expected to be simple.
As per the outlet, Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on Manzambi, having followed his progress since his time at Freiburg.
With Aston Villa having invested €60 million to secure his transfer this summer, Barcelona could face a significant financial obstacle if they decide to turn their interest into a concrete offer.
Barcelona join Bayern Munich in monitoring Johan Manzambi
Manzambi’s development has caught the attention of scouts across Europe, putting the young midfielder on the radar of clubs looking for high-potential additions.
English journalist Graeme Bailey, quoted by MARCA, highlighted the growing excitement surrounding the Swiss international.
“We know that scouts from some of Europe’s top clubs have been very impressed by Manzambi’s performances.

“Several of them regard him as a ‘superstar in the making’. Work is already underway behind the scenes, whilst potential suitors assess his development and long-term prospects,” said Bailey.
For now, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are among the clubs following his situation closely.
His recent attacking output has added to the interest, as Manzambi has registered three goals and three assists in six matches this season.
Aston Villa price tag could complicate Barcelona move
Barcelona’s interest does not necessarily mean a transfer is imminent.
The club’s financial considerations remain central to its recruitment strategy, and the cost of persuading Aston Villa to part with a player they have invested heavily in could prove prohibitive.
Manzambi is also viewed as a developing talent rather than an established player whose future is already settled.

Barcelona’s sporting management is therefore understood to be considering him as a possible summer addition, particularly if a departure from the current squad creates room for a new arrival.
That conditional approach could be important, as any pursuit would depend not only on the midfielder’s development but also on Barcelona’s financial flexibility and the competition for his signature.
Manzambi set to stay at Aston Villa until summer
At the same time, Bayern Munich have considered whether to pursue Manzambi during the winter transfer window.
However, the midfielder’s current preference is to remain at Aston Villa, where he can continue developing under Unai Emery.
The environment at Villa is considered ideal for his progress, making an immediate departure unlikely.
Barcelona may therefore have to wait until the summer before assessing whether a deal is realistic.
