The Celebrity Traitors final is fast approaching - and while some of our Traitors seemed to be on a winning streak, things might be about to change thanks to a murder in plain sight...
Having been picked as a Traitor in the very first episode, it seemed like Love Island host Maya Jama might have had the recipe for success. She's thrown her fellow Traitors under the bus when needs must (farewell to Hannah Fry and Richard E. Grant), and recruited when she needed it most (hello to James Acaster and King Kenny.)
However, things might be about to take a turn in the Scottish castle. Last episode saw Maya, James, and Kenny tasked with murdering another of the Faithfuls in plain sight - encouraging them to yawn, before asking whether or not they were boring them. It was Jerry Hall and Ross Kemp who were the unlucky duo to enter the room, with tonight's episode set to reveal which of them, if any, will be murdered by the Traitors.
Except, fans think this might spell the end of Grazia's former cover star Maya. Although the star has flown under the radar thus far, the challenge saw her yawning a tad too obviously. In fact, viewers have begun to speculate that it could be the mistake that leads to her downfall should one of the Faithfuls picks up on the suspicious behavior.
Taking to X, one fan wrote, 'Maya is absolutely overdoing it with these yawns. I fear when they find out there was a murder in plain sight, everyone who was in that room will immediately clock her being weird.' Another agreed, 'Jerry will yawn, and she gets murdered. Ross will immediately twig and next morning will confront James A and Maya. Kenny won't be mentioned as he wasn't in the room. James A will defend himself better than Maya. Maya banished.'
With several episodes (and plenty more memes) to come before the final, only time will tell whether the Faithfuls are hot on Maya's heels. In the meantime, here's your complete guide to the presenter...
Who is Maya Jama?
Maya Jama is a presenter, actor, and radio DJ who is currently starring on Celebrity Traitors.

How old is Maya Jama and where is she from?
Born on August 14, 1994, Maya Indea Jama is currently 32 years old. For our star sign fans, this also makes her an ambitious and creative Leo.
Maya was born in Bristol, before moving to her mother's home country of Sweden as a baby. Her mother is of Swedish/ Scottish descent, while her father is of Somali descent. She later moved back to Bristol as a child, and was raised by her mother. Maya has spoken in the past about how her father was in prison for much of her childhood for violence-related crimes. Speaking to The Guardian in 2017, Maya explained, 'It was normal for me. My dad's side of my family was super-supportive and they did everything in their power to make me and my brother not feel like we were missing out on anything'
Speaking on The Receipts Podcast back in 2018, Maya revealed how she was bullied at school over her heritage. 'I’m half-Somali and I used to get ripped the sh*t out of for that,' she explained. 'Before I joined year 7, during the summer holidays or whatever, I went to some summer school club and there was these boys, and they were so horrible to me because they found out I was Somalian. So when I joined year 7, and I met my classmates, I was like, "Yeah, ummm, I’m like Spanish and Jamaican," or something like that when they asked me where I was from. I made up a whole completely different background because I didn’t want anyone to judge me on where I was from.'
What does Maya Jama do? Her career explained
While she's now a familiar face on our TV screens, Maya began her career in the world of radio. She moved to London in 2012 to pursue a career in acting and modeling, before turning her attention to presenting.
From 2014 to 2017, Maya hosted her #DriveWithMaya show on Rinse FM. She later landed a gig on BBC Radio 1, co-presenting Radio 1's Greatest Hits and her show Maya Jama from 2018 to 2020. She also joined MTV as a presenter for The Wrap Up.
Now a familiar face on TV, Maya is perhaps best known for being the host of Love Island Games and Love Island UK, replacing Laura Whitmore back in 2023. Elsewhere in the world of TV, she's presented shows including The Circle (2017), Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star (2021-2022), and has appeared as a panelist on The Masked Singer and RuPaul's Drag Race UK.
The star also recently made her acting debut, landing a role in season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen. The star played Aisha in the Netflix crime drama, and is said to be returning for season three.
Is Maya Jama single? Inside her love life
Maya seems to be currently single, having recently split from Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias back in April after 18 months together. The pair reportedly first met at the MTV European Music Awards in Manchester back in November 2024, before taking their relationship public in April 2025.
Rumours began surfacing of their split in April of this year, after they removed several photographs of them together from their social medias. They later confirmed in mid May that they had broken up.
At the time, rumors swirled that Dias had been unfaithful - something the footballer denied. Hitting out at the allegations, the footballer wrote on Instagram, ‘When my 85-year-old grandad is asking me if I've cheated on my girlfriend because he's seen it repeatedly on the news, that's where I draw the line on what's acceptable and what's not. Maya and I have always had a relationship built on mutual respect. No line was ever crossed in that regard.’
He added, 'The reasons why we broke up are private and belong to us and we've both dealt with it in a very mature way. Respect me, respect Maya, and understand that not always one has to betray the other in order for a relationship to end.'
As for Maya, she addressed her breakup for the first time in June while explaining her philosophy on dating in the public eye. ‘Truth is even when I tried to keep my relationships private we get photographed anyway. I’m an all or nothing girl, I don’t casually date, so yes, I will love loudly or not at all. And if it ends, it ends. I decided a long time ago not to base personal life decisions on public opinions.’
Who else has Maya Jama dated?
From 2015 to 2019, Maya was in a relationship with British rapper Stormzy, with their break-up said to inspire the rapper's 2019 song 'Lessons.' Admitting he had made 'mistakes,' Stormzy told Louis Theroux, 'It was like, okay, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you. That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? Away from someone passing away, that’s the biggest loss you can have.'
Although he denied speculation of cheating, Stormzy did admit that he 'didn't do what a man should do to fully appreciate, love, and care for his woman.'
In July 2021, Maya struck up a relationship with NBA player Ben Simmons. The pair got engaged at the ends of the year, before calling things off in August 2022. Speaking to T_he Guardian_ early last year about her split, Maya shared, 'It was just a whirlwind romance, and I hadn't done a lot of the things I wanted to do. I had so many career dreams I wanted to achieve before getting married.'
In August 2023, Maya and Stormzy rekindled their romance, having been photographed on holiday together in Greece. The pair went on to split once again in July 2024, writing on Instagram, 'We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years manoeuvring life apart. We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we've spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.
'We tried and it didn't work and that's okay. We still think the absolute world of each other, we still care and respect each other, we are still grateful for the time we've had together, and we are still friends and will always be friends (so if you see us having a lil' catch-up at The Brits or something, don't cause a fuss, we are dawgs!)'
