Gogo Maweni is giving Mzansi a sneak peek at her new body, and it's turning heads. Footage shared on X on 9 October 2026 captured the well-known sangoma relaxing at home with her twins and dog, and her noticeably slimmer silhouette did not go unnoticed.
In the clip, Maweni's waist, cinched tightly by a waist trainer, drew immediate attention from people on the timeline who were struck by just how much her frame had changed.
Gogo Maweni's birthday transformation
The transformation has been building for most of the year. Maweni first began showing visible signs of weight loss at the start of 2026, but it was in late August, to celebrate turning 40, that she made her cosmetic surgery journey official. She framed the decision as a personal step into a new era defined by self-confidence and self-love.
She has since given credit to Turkey-based plastic surgeon Dr Erman Ak, describing his work as "such amazing work." At the time, she told her followers she would share a proper body reveal once her scars had healed, which means the footage now circulating is still just a preview of what she has been working towards.

While Maweni has kept the specific details of her procedures close to her chest, Briefly News understands that she has also attributed part of her weight loss to Mounjaro, a medication originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes that has since gained popularity as a weight management tool.
With the official reveal still to come, her followers are not waiting patiently. Fans have been closely monitoring her social media pages, anticipating the moment she pulls back the curtain on the full results of her surgery.
