The Green Bay Packers continued their long undefeated streak against the Dallas Cowboys with their 23-13 victory on Sunday Night Football. While Green Bay and Dallas played a game that ended in a tie in 2025, the last time the Cowboys defeated the Packers was a decade ago in 2016.
Indeed, Green Bay’s defense kept Dallas’ high-powered offense in check for the most part, despite some highly questionable roughing the passer penalties that could have helped the Cowboys get back into the game. Fortunately, the Packers were able to play just a clean enough game to come out on top.
Offensively, pass catchers recorded a frustrating number of dropped passes. Matthew Golden and Christian Watson combined to drop three touchdown passes, which would have made the final score far more lopsided. However, they also had solid games overall, and in the process made some franchise history.
Green Bay Packers wide receivers Matthew Golden and Christian Watson each have over 500 receiving yards
A week after recording a career-high 123 receiving yards, Golden had six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys. It was his third 100+ yard receiving game of the season. Considering he had just 361 receiving yards all of last year as a rookie, it is clear that he is ascending quickly.
For the year, he has 30 receptions for 501 yards and three touchdowns.
Watson was only able to bring in three of his eight targets for catches, but he still posted 64 receiving yards in the win. His career high in receiving yards for a season is 620. Through six games of 2026, he already has 538 and six touchdowns.
With Sunday night’s game putting both Golden and Watson over the 500-yard mark for the year, they became the first pair of Packers wide receivers to have at least that many yards over the team’s first six games of any season:

Over the course of the offseason, there were many who questioned whether or not Green Bay would have enough depth at wide receiver after letting Romeo Doubs walk in free agency and trading Dontayvion Wicks. Through the first six games of the season, though, it is clear that the blueprint Matt LaFleur had in mind for his pass catchers is working out.
While the Packers undoubtedly miss Jayden Reed, who is out for the year with a neck injury, Golden and Watson have emerged as arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. They may not have the career accomplishments [yet] of other notable duos around the league, but they are the only pair of teammates who each rank in the top-ten in receiving yards.
Just imagine what they will be able to do once Green Bay figures out the run game on offense.
