KOTA KINABALU: Sabah-based community radio station KUPIKUPI FM has expanded into Peninsular Malaysia, giving Sabahans and Sarawakians living there a way to stay connected to home while offering others an opportunity to learn about Borneo.
OOGA X chief executive officer Lester Calvin Miol said the expansion was aimed at bringing communities together and sharing Borneo's culture, music and stories, rather than competing with existing broadcasters.
Launched in January 2016, KUPIKUPI FM Sabah broadcasts across parts of Sabah, including Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar, Beaufort, Kuala Penyu, Tuaran and Kota Belud.

The station was established to serve local communities, promote homegrown talent and provide a platform for local voices.
In Peninsular Malaysia, it now broadcasts in parts of Negri Sembilan, including Seremban, Selangor, including Sepang, Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya and Kajang, as well as Putrajaya.
