Three Samsung Electronics products have been named to TIME magazine’s Best Inventions of 2026 list. The U.S. news magazine announced its selections on Oct. 15, local time, recognizing innovative products across categories including consumer electronics, home appliances, and entertainment and gaming.
Each year, TIME selects new products that transform everyday life based on recommendations from its editors and correspondents around the world, evaluating originality, effectiveness, ambition and impact. This year, Samsung Electronics earned recognition across the smartphone, home appliance and monitor segments, highlighting its technological capabilities across multiple product categories.
Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S26 Ultra, named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, selected in the consumer electronics category, was recognized primarily for its Privacy Display feature. The technology limits screen visibility from side angles to help protect users’ personal information. It was praised for offering greater flexibility and convenience than conventional privacy screen protectors, allowing users to choose when to activate the feature or apply it selectively to specific content.
Launched in March, the smartphone also features an upgraded version of Galaxy AI. One notable feature is Now Nudge, which understands the user’s context and proactively suggests relevant information. Its camera system features a 200-megapixel wide-angle lens and a wider aperture, enabling clearer photography even in low-light conditions.
Samsung Electronics’ Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator, named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026.
In the home appliances category, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator earned recognition for its AI Vision feature, which uses an internal camera to automatically identify and manage food items. Through the SmartThings app, users can check the refrigerator’s contents, while AI Food Manager helps track expiration dates and provides personalized recipe recommendations. A large 32-inch front display also supports various convenience features, including web browsing and music playback.
Samsung Electronics’ Odyssey G8 gaming monitor, named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026.
The Odyssey G8, selected in the entertainment and gaming category, was recognized for being the first gaming monitor to support 6K resolution. Its Dual Mode allows users to switch between a 6K resolution at 165Hz and a 3K resolution at 330Hz, depending on the gaming genre. The monitor also features HDR10+ Gaming technology, which analyzes individual frames in each scene to deliver greater visual depth and image quality.
Samsung Electronics has had products included in TIME’s Best Inventions list every year since the Galaxy Z Flip3 was selected in 2021. Last year’s selections included the Micro RGB TV and The Frame Pro. With three more products recognized this year, the company has further strengthened its position as an innovator in the global consumer electronics industry.
