Following the news, Lee Kyu Han’s previous comments on marriage have attracted interest.
On the Channel A entertainment program These Days Men’s Life – Groom School, Lee confided in a friend of 25 years about his true feelings on marriage. When asked by his friend if he was interested in dating, Lee said, “If I meet someone good. I’m always open,” but added, “But I really don’t want to have a wedding.”
When his friend suggested he should at least have a wedding, Lee replied, “The word ‘groom’ feels the furthest from me in the world. I’ve experienced filming wedding scenes in dramas. It was so awkward, and walking down the aisle as the groom was unbearable.”
His concerns extended beyond the wedding itself to having children. Lee said, “No matter who I meet, I have to consider the future because of my age. But my condition is ‘Will you have a wedding? Will you have children?’ If I meet someone for the first time and say, ‘I won’t have a wedding or children,’ how many people would accept that?”
When asked if he disliked children, Lee reflected on his childhood. “It’s not that I dislike them. I was always alone growing up. There weren’t many adults to take care of me. Now, as an adult, I don’t know if I can give that care to a child. I see young actors on set, and they are so lovely, but I don’t know how to treat them. I worry that if I have a child, I might even struggle with my own child,” he shared honestly.

While watching the footage with his mother in the studio, Lee also spoke about growing up with her. “Actually, I was raised by my mother alone. I didn’t even open up about that to my friends when I was young,” he revealed, sharing family stories he had previously kept private.
Particularly, the feelings he had at his sister’s wedding lingered deeply with him. He said, “My sister got married late, and I sat next to my mother. I thought, ‘If I get married, who will sit next to mom?’” and tears welled up.
He added, “I don’t want to see my mother sitting there alone,” expressing his complex emotions about the possibility of his mother being alone at his own wedding.
Although he had been cautious about weddings and children, Lee Kyu Han seems to have changed his perspective as he prepares for a new start with Solbi.
