KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain says he is ready to face any outcome under the country's legal system.
He said this when asked about the charge he is expected to face tomorrow in connection with an alleged assault involving two police personnel at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Sept 28.
He said, as he had stated previously, efforts to improve Malaysia's border security came at a price, and that he was prepared to pay it himself.
"Tomorrow, I am ready to face the country's legal process.
"I accept and respect whatever decision is made, and I will attend court," he said when contacted.
Shuhaily also thanked Malaysians for their continued support as he carried out his duties.
"I am also grateful to those who continue to pray for me and hope that things will be made easier as I carry out my responsibilities," he said.
He confirmed that he had been informed of the charge proceedings scheduled for tomorrow morning at the Sepang Court.
Shuhaily is expected to be charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to two police personnel.
On Oct 17, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) had returned the investigation papers to the police for further action.
He said the A-GC had requested several improvements to the investigation papers before deciding on the next course of action.
