The presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for the 2027 general election, Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, flagged off his presidential campaign in Ede, Osun state, on Saturday, pledging to revive the nation’s economy.
This was contained in a statement he made available to the media in Kaduna on Saturday October 24, 2026.
The flag-off ceremony, held at Babanla Agate Ward, his home ward in Ede, was preceded by special prayers led by Islamic scholars, Christian clerics, and traditionalists.
Top politicians, captains of industry, unionists, artisans, and traders from different parts of the country graced the occasion, which was presided over by AA national leaders, including the party’s Osun State chairman, Kazeem Araoye.
Addressing supporters, Omoaje disclosed that grand campaigns would soon be held across the country’s six geopolitical zones, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He said his agenda for the country covered all sectors of the economy, stressing that he was determined to end the economic crisis currently ravaging the nation.
The AA presidential candidate said his economic revival plan would focus on job creation, poverty eradication, and the fight against corruption.
He reiterated his determination to ensure that all youths in the country were gainfully employed and promised to abolish poverty if elected.
Expressing optimism that he would win next year’s presidential election, Omoaje said his administration would be anchored in economic prosperity and guided by his party’s core values, which center on promoting the welfare of the masses.
On security, he assured supporters that his administration would fight insecurity head-on and ensure that all Nigerians could sleep with both eyes closed anywhere in the country.
Omoaje further said he would reduce the number of ministers and political appointees and instead appoint Presidential Liaison Officers in all 774 local government areas to ensure a direct federal presence at the grassroots.
He also promised that all roads would be classified as federal roads to eliminate disparities in infrastructure development across the country.
The presidential hopeful solicited Nigerians’ support for his bid to become the next president, pledging to deliver purposeful leadership to restore hope and prosperity.
