Sanaa – Media outlets affiliated with Yemen’s Houthi movement reported on Saturday that a series of airstrikes targeted the capital, Sanaa, amid escalating regional military tensions.
According to the Houthi-run Al Masirah television channel, multiple strikes hit areas in Sanaa. The broadcaster did not immediately provide further details regarding the locations targeted, casualties, or potential damage.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced that it had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement posted on the social media platform X that coalition forces successfully intercepted and destroyed the two missiles before they reached their intended targets.
Earlier on Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense issued a public alert warning residents of a potential threat in the governorates of Yanbu, Taif, Jeddah, and Makkah.
In subsequent updates, the Civil Defense authority announced that the danger had passed in the Makkah region and the governorates of Yanbu, Jeddah, and Taif.
The authority urged citizens and residents to continue following Civil Defense instructions and to avoid gathering in affected areas or attempting to photograph ongoing security operations.
