While a Korean star brought laughter with a surprise skit she created together with her husband, some expressed concern for her as the scene was somewhat eerie, especially with her upcoming childbirth.
On October 13th, comedian Kim Ji Min posted on her account a short video with the caption, “Oh! My God!!” The video was a staged skit that seemed rehearsed by the couple, packing twists and comedic moments into a brief clip.
The video begins with Kim Ji Min coming out of a room and spotting her husband Kim Jun Ho collapsed face down on the kitchen floor. In front of his face was a spilled red drink, creating a tense scene that at first glance looked like he was bleeding and had fallen.
The twist came with Kim Ji Min’s next move: instead of checking on her husband’s condition, she picked up a cloth and began cleaning the spilled drink off the floor. She diligently sprayed cleaning solution and even lifted Kim Jun Ho’s head to clean underneath it thoroughly. Kim Jun Ho remained lying down the entire time, while Kim Ji Min finished cleaning and then left the room without attending to him.
The comical portrayal of the wife caring more about the dirty floor than her collapsed husband, combined with Kim Jun Ho’s serious acting throughout, added to the humor.
Fans laughed heartily at their comedic teamwork and showed their support through comments and likes. However, there were also many expressing concern for the pregnant Kim Ji Min. Some netizens left comments like, “Oh my, even as a joke, why that kind of joke?” and “You’re so childish! The baby would be scared,” showing worry. Although meant as a joke for laughs, some pointed out that scenes reminiscent of blood could be upsetting for a pregnant woman.
Kim Jun Ho and Kim Ji Min, who are senior and junior colleagues in the comedy scene, got married last July. They announced their pregnancy in July this year, receiving many congratulations.
