According to SGC Energy (005090) on the 19th, the SGC Culture Foundation officially sponsored the "Korea-France 140th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Running Event," hosted by the French Embassy in Seoul on the 15th. Some 650 participants, including middle and high school students and adults from both Korea and France, took on 2.5-kilometer, 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer courses that started at UNICEF Square in Seoul's Mapo District and ran around Haneul Park.
At the venue, the SGC Culture Foundation handed out souvenirs such as sports gym sacks, drinks and energy bars, and Olive Young gift certificates through a roulette event and an Instagram follow event. It also gave away VIP invitations to an autumn concert the foundation will host at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center in Seoul in November. The site also featured zones for petanque, a traditional French ball game, traditional Korean archery and French peanut butter tastings.
An SGC Culture Foundation official said, "It was highly meaningful to be able to engage with participants of various generations and nationalities at an event marking the 140th anniversary of Korea-France diplomatic ties," adding, "We plan to continue expanding support for culture and arts activities that many citizens can take part in, and to work toward building an open cultural ecosystem."
