Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff are strong contenders for the 69th Grammy Awards with “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The pop-country song was written for the upcoming film Toy Story 5. Swift could win the Best Song Written for Visual Media award for the second time. Her previous victory came in 2013 with “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games, co-written with T Bone Burnett and The Civil Wars.
The song could also make history for the Toy Story franchise. Randy Newman won this Grammy category in 2001 with “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2. A win for Swift and Antonoff would make it the first franchise with winning songs from two separate instalments. Meanwhile, 149 songs are competing for just five or six places on the final ballot. Grammy nominations will be announced on November 16.

Lady Gaga and Doechii are also strong contenders with “Runway” from The Devil Wears Prada 2. They co-wrote the song with Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, Jayda Love, Bruno Mars, Cirkut and Andrew Watt. Gaga has won this category twice before for “Shallow” and “I’ll Never Love Again.” Both songs came from A Star Is Born and won in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Her omission from the current songwriting credits may be corrected if “Runway” reaches the final ballot.
Lin-Manuel Miranda has entered “Along the Way” from Moana, co-written with Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina. Miranda previously won for “How Far I’ll Go” from the original Moana and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto. Meanwhile, Diane Warren is competing with “By Any Means” from the film of the same name. The Isley Brothers and David Kushner performed the track. Warren has received a record 11 nominations in this category, but her only win came for “Because You Loved Me” from Up Close & Personal.
