The Charlotte Hornets fell on the road to the Boston Celtics 114-93, their second loss of the preseason (1-2). Turnovers were a glaring issue once again, as Charlotte committed 30 giveaways, five more than the 25 they committed to open their preseason against the Brooklyn Nets.
That said, Charlotte had bright spots in other areas, including recent first-round pick Christian Anderson Jr., who made his team debut. Anderson Jr., the recent No. 18 overall pick from Texas Tech, scored 10 points in 21 minutes on 50% shooting from the field and 66% shooting from 3-point range. He also tallied one rebound, one assist and two steals.
In addition to Anderson Jr., it was Frenchman Tidjane Salaun who got the job done, tying Brandon Miller with a team-high 16 points to go along with one rebound and one assist. Salaun showcased an improved 3-point shot, converting on 4-of-8 attempts from beyond the arc.
With one more preseason matchup left to play (Oct. 16) against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Hornets will need to focus on taking care of the ball to put forth a more well-rounded effort.
