Nota Baloyi has thrown his weight behind MacG, calling on the podcast host to pursue legal action against Minnie Dlamini after she repeated claims that his commentary directly cost her a lucrative Nivea deal. The outspoken music executive did not hold back, suggesting a R5 million lawsuit would be appropriate.
The drama follows a candid sit-down Minnie had with Thando Thabethe on her 947 Drive with Thando radio show, during which she opened up about her personal life, marriage, and career struggles. During the conversation, she doubled down on earlier assertions that MacG's remarks had a direct, damaging impact on her brand partnerships and income. Her claims were not new — she had previously raised them in court papers as part of a legal or equity complaint in which she sought R2.5 million after allegedly losing significant campaign revenue.
Baloyi, who co-hosts Music Pulse on the Podcast and Chill Network, took to X on Saturday, 10 October 2026, to make his position clear. He argued that Minnie had no business making the Nivea allegation publicly without the ability to substantiate it.
"It's time for MacG to sue Minnie for 5 million… She didn't need to make the false claim that MacG cost her a Nivea deal & she can't prove it either. She is defaming him!" he wrote.

Opinions on social media were divided, with some backing Minnie's right to speak out and others siding with Nota's call for accountability:
@paru_saha said:
"She really needs to back up those claims with proof."
@Khumo_20220718 urged compassion:
"But she already spent a lot on her wedding. Be kind."
@dunjanathabz pushed back against the sceptics:
"Remember she has proof of all the things he's ever said about her in the past couple of years."
@Shinga_10 had a more colourful take:
"Leave the grannies alone, you have a beautiful 20s boi, they will think that you want them."
The back-and-forth puts the spotlight on the ongoing tension between media personalities and podcast culture in South Africa, where commentary on celebrities' personal lives has increasingly spilled into legal territory. Whether MacG responds to Nota's call remains to be seen.
