OnePlus is now rolling out stable Android 17 updates to OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4, marking the end of OxygenOS as these devices are just the first to transition to ColorOS.
OxygenOS has been OnePlus’ skin on top of Android for years. It started off as a “stock” skin with some added features, but eventually transitioned into a global-optimized version of Oppo’s ColorOS. So it wasn’t a surprise that, when OnePlus shut down most of its global operations, it was also announced that OxygenOS would go away with existing devices updating to ColorOS.
Starting in India, ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 is rolling out to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4. The update has been in beta for a while now, but today marks the start of the stable rollout.
OnePlus summarizes ColorOS 17, saying:
ColorOS 17 is here, bringing a new wave of smarter experiences, smoother interactions, and more ways to make your phone work around you… At the heart of ColorOS 17 is an idea we believe in: Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere. Technology should feel less like something you have to figure out and more like something that naturally keeps up with you. From making everyday interactions feel more fluid to turning ideas into finished work with AI, we’re bringing intelligence closer to the moments that matter, helping you move between tasks, devices, and experiences with less friction.
Originally, OnePlus’ timeline put the first updates on October 29.
Other devices confirmed to be updated include last-gen flagships and an assortment of Nord devices, but OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 are the only two for this first wave. Presumably, the update will expand to other regions in the coming days. The next wave lands on October 30 and includes OnePlus 13.
