Alie Clarke, a Marshfield graduate, also is on the roster, though she had not appeared in any matches this fall.
The Lakers have been coached for five years by Kyle Smith, a Marshfield graduate who has spent more than 20 years coaching locally at various levels.
Marshfield graduate Tatum Montiel is a redshirt freshman on Linfield’s roster and among the team’s leaders on offense. The outside hitter had 78 kills in 13 matches through last weekend, which was second best on the squad for the Wildcats, who were 6-7 overall and 3-3 in Northwest Conference play. Montiel is the daughter of Marshfield coach Tammie Montiel.
Chloe Runn, another Marshfield graduate, is a freshman on the Linfield roster, but has not played in any matches this fall.
Ava Ainsworth, another Marshfield graduate, is a redshirt freshman for Western Oregon University. Ainsworth had played in one match for the Wolves, who were 6-9 overall and 2-5 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
Bridget Gould, who played for North Bend before graduating from Marshfield, is a sophomore at Oregon State University and has seen limited time for the Beavers this season.
Last year, as a redshirt freshman, Gould played in 19 matches. She had a career-best 10 kills against Pacific and had five kills and three blocks against Saint Mary’s. She started her college career at the University of Oregon before transferring to OSU.
The Beavers were 8-6 overall and 3-0 in Pac-12 play through last weekend.
Montiel, Runn, Ainsworth, Gould and Clarke all played on Marshfield’s most recent state champion squad, which won the title in 2024.
