US President Donald Trump has said he is considering removing Kimberly Guilfoyle, the US ambassador to Greece and former fiancée of his son, Donald Trump Jr., from her post.
Axios reported early Tuesday, October 13, that Trump’s position comes amid reports alleging that Guilfoyle used her political connections to obtain financial benefits.
According to the report, the allegations include claims that Guilfoyle asked a Trump donor for $100,000 in exchange for access to government officials and allowed a lobbyist to attend private diplomatic meetings.
Guilfoyle’s representatives have denied any wrongdoing on her part.
However, when asked whether he was considering removing Guilfoyle, Trump said: “Yes, we’re looking at it. We’re not happy.”
