The twins were joined at the torso and shared vital organs, including their liver and intestines, a condition that ultimately shaped the circumstances of their final hours.

José Luis went into sudden cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital, where doctors managed to stabilise him. Minutes later, José Armando suffered a fatal heart attack, and due to their shared anatomy, both brothers died shortly after.
"José Armando took José Luis with him," Carrillo said, adding: "They were born together and died together." Their representatives confirmed the deaths but withheld formal medical documentation out of respect for the family's privacy.
Their brother, Damián Cevallos, described their parents as "devastated" by the sudden and unexpected loss.
Far from shying away from their condition, the Cevallos brothers used their platform to educate, inspire, and entertain.
They openly answered questions from followers about what daily life looked like for conjoined twins and documented adventurous pursuits that many able-bodied people would hesitate to try, including horse riding and paragliding.
They also travelled to Colombia to seek medical treatment aimed at improving their mobility.
Their final Instagram post, shared just three days before they died on October 12, captured a series of lighthearted moments: the pair laughing, sharing a meal at a restaurant, and working in sync to load a car boot.
It was a fitting last glimpse into lives lived with warmth and determination.
