Baltimore Ravens star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is not looking to channel his inner Taylor Swift and seek revenge against the Cincinnati Bengals when he faces his former team and quarterback Joe Burrow for the first time Sunday.
As the Ravens (4-2) prepare to host the Bengals (3-2) in their Week 7 matchup at 1 p.m. ET on CBS, Hendrickson made it clear that he has moved on from his time in Cincinnati rather than looking for any bad blood.
According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley on Thursday, Hendrickson declined to discuss the emotions surrounding his reunion with the Bengals and avoided directly answering whether he was looking forward to sacking his former teammate Burrow.

“It’s not about me,” Hendrickson said. “It’s about the team and what I can bring and what we can collectively do as a unit.”
The 31-year-old signed a four-year, $112 million contract with Baltimore this offseason following five seasons with Cincinnati, where he established himself as one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers.
Hendrickson earned four Pro Bowl selections during his Bengals tenure and recorded 61 sacks from 2021 through 2025, the fourth-most in the league over that span. He also earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2024.
However, his departure followed a prolonged contract dispute that stretched through spring workouts and training camp in 2025. Cincinnati eventually awarded Hendrickson a $14 million raise before the season, but the two sides did not reach a long-term agreement.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his exit, Hendrickson has no interest in writing a Taylor Swift-inspired revenge song about his former team, instead emphasizing forgiveness and his responsibilities with Baltimore.
“As a Christian, I forgive and I move on. There are wonderful times that I had there. There will be a time to reflect on all that stuff. But right now, there’s an opponent in front of us. As the Ravens, we look forward to capitalizing on everything we can,” Hendrickson said.
His comments suggest the veteran defender is leaving any lingering frustrations in the past rather than treating Sunday’s matchup as an opportunity to settle old scores.
The Ravens are looking to rebound from a disappointing 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, which dropped their record to 4-2.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati enters the divisional matchup at 3-2, with Burrow preparing to face a familiar defender who spent five seasons pursuing opposing quarterbacks on his behalf.
Sunday’s matchup will provide Hendrickson with his first opportunity to face his former teammates as Baltimore looks to strengthen its position in the AFC North standings.
