Using six years of radar and optical imagery, analysts found more road activity at Pickaxe in 2026 than at any point in the site’s history. The pattern has also changed. Rather than continued large-scale excavation, imagery now shows hardened tunnel portals, newly surfaced internal roads, reinforced access areas and removal of excavation spoil, signs consistent with a transition toward probable internal construction and further fortification. The facility sits just 2 km south of Natanz and was originally announced as an underground centrifuge assembly complex. Israeli intelligence reportedly told the U.S. that Iran moved centrifuges and centrifuge components into Pickaxe last fall. Sen. Murphy had just returned from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and he described a war "spiraling out of control." By his account, Iran is restarting nuclear research at its Pickaxe Mountain site, which he said comes from open source reporting. 🇺🇲🇮🇷US Military has drafted Options to use Mother of All bombs against Iran's Nuclear and Energy sites If President Trump orders Strikes- CNN The GBU-43/B MOAB is the largest non Nuclear bomb in the US arsenal and now America has prepared options to use it against Iranian nuclear related sites including Pickaxe Mountain. The options of using the bomb will be available if Trump orders renewed combat operations either before or after midterms elections. Trump has publicly stated he would not launch new actions before midterms, thought his advisors are not sure about final decision. Trump administration says all options are on the table to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon as it plans for a wide range of options. That's the report The report doesn't mean its decision strike to use Mother Of All Bombs but its an option plan. MOAB is a large air blast weapon weighing 21600Ibs roughly equivalent to 11tons and was designed mainly for surface area destruction and psychological effect not deep penetration of hardened underground facilities under granite. The bomb was used in 2017 against ISIS tunnels in Afghanistan. The bomb using it against Iranian Pickaxe Mountain near Natanz it could be less effective to damage the site since its assessed as more than 100 meters under hard Rock. It could properly serve its purpose unless used on energy facilities . The use of tge bomb risks limited impact on Pickaxe Mountain, Iranian retaliation, civilian casualties and further escalation in the war leading to regional instability.
