The Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays set to begin the 2026 World Series on Friday. As Rockies fans, we may not have any specific rooting interests in the series, but as fans of baseball, there is no greater spectacle than this series.
We should all take a moment to look back at what makes a World Series memorable (outside of a team we care about being in it).
What World Series, other than 2007, has stuck with you in the years since it concluded? What was so special about it?
Was there some big moment that has made it live with you all these years? Were there particular players you happened to be invested in on those teams? Was there a big underdog narrative that gripped you? Did it just happen to occur at the right time in your specific life?
If you need a refresher, Baseball Reference has an easy to parse list of every World Series dating back to the inaugural one in 1903 when the Boston American’s bested the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Whatever the reason, let us know which World Series set the standard for you!
Do feel free to gush about 2007 as well if you’d like… just also mention the non-Rockies World Series that meant the most to you as well.
