Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement in principle with Harry Kane on a new long-term contract that will keep the England captain at the club until June 2029.
According to reports from transfer journalist Michael Bridge, corroborated by Fabrizio Romano on X on Thursday, the key terms on salary and contract length have been settled.
The documents are now with lawyers for final checks and approval, with the signing expected to take place as soon as possible. Kane has given his personal approval to the deal.
His post read, “Bayern reach a verbal agreement in principle with Harry Kane over new long term deal until June 2029.
“All set on salary, length and documents now in lawyers’ hands to check, approve then sign as soon as possible.”
Kane’s existing contract runs until the summer of 2027.
The proposed extension would add two further years and keep the 33-year-old at the Allianz Arena into his mid-30s.
The striker joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a club-record transfer in 2023 and has been highly productive since arriving.
He has scored more than 150 goals in around 154 appearances across all competitions, claimed the Bundesliga top-scorer award in each of his seasons in Germany, and contributed to domestic titles.
His strong form for club and country has also made him a leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Negotiations had been progressing positively in recent weeks, with earlier reports indicating an agreement in principle on the major points.
Club officials, including sporting director Christoph Freund, had previously described talks as “very positive” and emphasised Kane’s comfort at the club, while noting that nothing is final until the contract is signed.
