Michael Kennedy’s daughter Kyle Kennedy died on Sept. 21. She was 42.
The granddaughter of Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy passed away in her Westwood, Massachusetts, home last month, according to her obituary.
Kyle’s tragic death comes six years after she suffered a severe spinal cord injury resulting in long-term paralysis.
Kyle, in her final years, advocated for people living with disabilities.
She is survived by son Conor, 12 and son Declan, 10, whom she shares with Liam Kerr.
While Kyle and Kerr wed in August 2012, the obituary referred to the latter as the deceased’s “former husband.”
The exes, during their time together, also welcomed daughter Josephine, Conor’s twin sister, but the infant died days after her birth.
In addition to her sons, Kyle is survived by her two siblings — Michael, 43, and Rory, 38 — as well as four nieces and nephews and her mom, Victoria Denise Gifford.
Gifford, notably, is former “Today” show star Kathie Lee Gifford’s stepdaughter.
Kathie Lee’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Victoria gave birth to Kyle on July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C., with her then-husband, Michael, who died in a 1997 skiing accident at 39.
Kyle attended Milton Academy, a private high school, before studying history at Georgetown University.
She continued her education, earning a Master of Science in Early Education from Pace University and a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
After graduating college, she worked in New York City as a Teach For America teacher.
According to Kylie’s obituary, she was “a passionate advocate for more equitable elementary education and charter schooling” who worked “with technology companies focused on reforming and improving school curricula” and as “a coach for educators working with young students.”
