JOHOR BARU: Umno Youth has pledged to maintain mature, healthy and professional political conduct throughout the upcoming Melaka election.
Its election director, Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, said the party would adopt a positive campaigning approach.
He said the youth campaign machinery would highlight BN's record in government from 1957 to 2018.
"BN does not engage in speculation or slander. Instead, we want to share the positive things so that the people can see and judge for themselves," he said.
Mohd Hairi, who is also Umno Youth deputy chief, said the party's youth machinery across all 191 divisions nationwide would be mobilised to support the Melaka election campaign.
He said the state campaign teams, including Umno Youth executive council members and division leaders, had been assigned their respective tasks.
The party would engage with communities and voters in Melaka in an effort to maintain the winning momentum from Johor and Negri Sembilan, he said.
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the 16th Melaka election, with nomination day scheduled for Oct 31.
