POSCO E&C, winner of the Top Excellence Award in the customer satisfaction category, is broadening its shared-growth management through voluntary employee giving, community-tailored social contribution programs and partnerships with local construction firms. At home, the company focuses on grassroots volunteer work and revitalizing regional economies, while overseas it is building trust with residents through environmental conservation and education support.
In June this year, POSCO E&C donated 500 blood donation certificates to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation. The certificates were collected by employees through the in-house "Sharing Love Blood Drive" campaign, which has been running since 2023, and will be used for children who need continuous transfusion treatment. The company has held regular in-house blood donation events with the Korean Red Cross since 2006, with about 6,400 employees taking part in the campaign.
"Connecting Warm Hearts," launched in September last year, is a hands-on volunteer program in which employees use their lunch breaks each month to make and deliver needed items. In the first half of this year, they prepared school supply kits for the new semester, pouches to prevent hearing-aid receivers from being lost for children with hearing impairments, health kits for foreign workers, and thank-you gifts for Korean War veterans and their families.

The company is also strengthening collaboration with group affiliates. Through the "Connecting Tables" campaign carried out with POSCO A&C in June, it collected 219 grocery bags and delivered them to the Incheon Council on Social Welfare. It also helped create safer learning environments for children through its "Dream Site Guardian" program, which renovates aging facilities at community childcare centers.
Overseas, the company runs social contribution programs covering both the environment and education, centered on Rayong in Thailand, a key business base. In the area, where it is carrying out the Gulf MTP liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, POSCO E&C works with the POSCO 1% Foundation, World Vision and the Salvation Army to provide support that residents need.
To help restore fishing village ecosystems and support residents' economic self-reliance, the company released 3 million juvenile fish into the sea, and it plants 1,000 mangrove trees a year to prevent coastal erosion. At two local elementary schools, it installed solar power equipment, air conditioners and safety fences, and upgraded restrooms and information and communications technology (ICT) teaching equipment.
The company also supports career exploration for younger generations. It developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based career exploration app and held seven "Finding Dreams Mentoring" sessions for about 40 local children, with 24 mentors drawn from Burapha University students and site employees.
In large-scale public projects, POSCO E&C is focusing on expanding the participation of local construction firms. It signed a shared-growth agreement to boost the local construction industry in connection with the second phase of the Incheon Expressway conversion project, together with Incheon and the Incheon chapter of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association. Under the agreement, the company plans to have local construction firms account for more than 70% of total subcontracting value. It also set a target of using locally produced materials, construction equipment and labor for more than 70% of the total contract value. The company plans to build a cooperative system as well, including taking recommendations of strong local specialty contractors and deploying them at its sites.
