Western Australia’s summer cruising season launched with the 6am arrival of Crown Princess last Sunday.
The 3000-passenger ship called at Fremantle as part of its 28-day Round Australia round trip, which also takes in Broome and the Kimberley coast.
Crown Princess’ arrival is the first of 200 scheduled cruise ship visits to WA ports throughout the 2026-27 season, and this time next year, Sapphire Princess will be homeported here.
It was also announced this week that Carnival Cruise Line is axing two ships, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa, by March 2028.
That’s half of its summer fleet in Australia. Carnival cites regulatory uncertainty and local operating conditions as factors in its decision.
