ANDONG — North Gyeongsang Province and the city of Gyeongju will invest 10.5 billion won ($7.3 million) through 2029 to build an integrated care support center offering childcare and caregiving services in one place, to be located in the Gyeongju Station district in Hwacheon-ri, Geoncheon-eup, Gyeongju.
The project was selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's program supporting locally tailored responses to low birth rates, securing 500 million won in special grant funding.
The first floor will house counseling rooms, a rental service for toys and childcare supplies, and a children's library. The second floor will include indoor play facilities for infants and toddlers, a parent education room, a nursing room and a family lounge. The third floor will have a music room, a cooking room, an art room and a dance studio.
The province and the city plan to consolidate childcare and caregiving services currently spread across multiple agencies and deliver them through a single point of access.
