The 25-year-old male driver was issued more than $2,500 worth of fines for stunting and having a modified muffler.
Police stopped the driver on Prince Street just after midnight on Oct. 20. They recorded the vehicle traveling 108 km/h in the 50 km zone.
During the traffic stop, the officer noted the vehicle’s exhaust was very loud and after a check, claimed it had been modified, which is not allowed under Nova Scotia law.
Police seized the man’s licence and vehicle for seven days and issued a fine for stunting, as well as one for not have the required exhaust.
The stunting ticket is for $2,422.50 and the fine for having the modified muffler is $180.
The male driver was not identified in the police release posted to the Cape Breton Regional Police social media channels on Wednesday.
