Pine forests at risk of fires

Following recent forest fire incidents, Fiji Pine Limited is urging the public to take precautions to prevent fires on pine forests.

FPL warns that fires can destroy years of growth within hours, threatening livelihoods and the environment.

The company is urging people not to light fires near plantations or throw cigarette butts from vehicles, and to report any fire or smoke immediately.
