UNDP’s ENCORE Reaches 54 Villages, 96 Camps in Kachin State

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is providing support to 54 villages and 96 camps in Kachin State through its ENCORE programme.
During a visit to Myitkyina, Mr Daniel Derzic, Head of the Swiss Embassy in Myanmar, and colleagues from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) met with the UNDP to learn how the ENCORE programme supports internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected communities.
With more than US$2 million in funding from Switzerland, the ENCORE programme is helping people rebuild their livelihoods, access emergency assistance, and restore essential services and infrastructure. — ASH/KNN
