Asia Kate Dillon, the actor known for roles in Billions, Orange Is the New Black and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, is seeking work in the service industry after their acting opportunities have “all but diminished.”
In a post shared on Instagram Tuesday, Dillon, 41, reflected on their food and customer service experience, which began when they were 15, and shared their résumé as they look to return to the field after 11 years working in the entertainment industry.
“When I was 15, I got my first job in food service,” Dillon wrote. “I continued working in food and general customer service, alongside any acting gigs I could rustle up, until the fall of 2015 when I was finally able to make the transition to a full-time income stemming from just my acting work. I have worked exclusively in theater, film and TV for the last 11 years.”
Dillon added: “Now, like for many, many performer colleagues of mine — particularly those of us who are trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming — acting work has all but diminished, and I’m in need of service work once more.”
The actor also expressed their enthusiasm for returning to the industry, writing that they love customer service and creating welcoming environments for people to connect. Dillon said they are available for part-time, nighttime and weekend work.
Dillon is best known for playing Taylor Mason on Showtime’s Billions, becoming the first nonbinary actor to portray a nonbinary character on a major American television series. They came out as nonbinary in 2016.
In a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dillon discussed the significance of playing Taylor and the response they received from viewers.
“Although my casting as a nonbinary actor to play this nonbinary character on a major television series was, in fact, a coincidence, it is certainly significant,” Dillon said.
The actor also reflected on receiving messages from young nonbinary viewers about the importance of seeing themselves represented onscreen.
“Those messages just mean everything to me,” Dillon said. “That’s really what it’s all about — the media having the ability to reach places in the world where there may be someone who is isolated from anyone else who is having a similar experience. That’s the power that art can have, and I’m really proud to be a part of a piece of art that is reaching people. Particularly at a time like this.”
Dillon most recently appeared in the 2025 drama film Outerlands.

Hello!
In the year 2000, when I was 15, I got my first job in food service. It was a weekend gig at the (locally) famous, always bustling Ithaca Bakery. I worked mornings; first up was sorting the freshly baked piping hot bagels in their respective bins, and then I would move into rotating and stocking the drink fridges. Throughout my shift my duties included maintaining the coffee station in the center of the retail floor —lids, sugars, straws, stirrers, sleeves, I kept everything very tidy — cleaning and restocking the restroom, mopping up inevitable customer spills, ferrying dirty and then clean dish bins to and from the dining areas and greeting customers. I loved it.
Ranging from dishwasher to food runner to floor manager, I continued working in food and general customer service, alongside any acting gigs I could rustle up, until the fall of 2015 when I was finally able to make the transition to a full-time income stemming from just my acting work. I have worked exclusively in theater, film and TV for the last 11 years.
Now, like for many, many performer colleagues of mine — particularly those of us who are trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming — acting work has all but diminished, and I’m in need of service work once more.
I love customer service. I love creating welcoming environments for people to relax in and connect with each other. I love food and drink. I am passionate and curious and a great teammate. I imagine the hurdle to reentry will be learning the new POS systems, but I’m a quick study. I’m available for part time, night and weekend work.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
All best,
Asia Kate Dillon
