KUALA LUMPUR: Former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli revealed that he has handed over the video and transcript of Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan's press conference yesterday to his legal team.
Rafizi said he would share further updates on any subsequent action recommended by his lawyers regarding the matter.
"Pakcik just smiled watching Ramanan going round in circles earlier. Pakcik has passed the video and transcript to the lawyers.
"Tomorrow, Pakcik will update you on what the lawyers say," he wrote in a Threads post last night.
Yesterday, Ramanan, who is also PKR vice-president, labeled Rafizi a serial liar during a press conference at the Human Resources Ministry's Service Appreciation Ceremony, claiming he frequently made false statements and distorted facts.
Ramanan reportedly said the former PKR deputy president had made untrue statements on numerous occasions before issuing apologies.
He also criticised Rafizi for soliciting public donations whenever he lost a defamation suit in court.
Ramanan further challenged Rafizi to respond to a scandal involving former Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, particularly allegations of abuse of power involving the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), also known as Yayasan Hijau Malaysia.
Ramanan's remarks were in response to Rafizi's earlier claim that he had yet to receive a writ of summons from the minister over allegations that he received RM9.5 million from businessman Victor Chin to resolve a corporate mafia issue.
