Google may remove access to its Pro AI models from Google AI Plus on November 13, 2026, according to a notice attributed to the Google One team and reproduced by Droid Life.
Under the reported change, Google AI Plus subscribers would no longer be able to manually select Pro models in either the Gemini app or AI Mode in Google Search.
Flash and Flash-Lite models would remain available, while existing conversations that previously used a Pro model could continue using a different model.
Pro Models Would Remain on Higher Tiers
The notice describes a restriction on selecting Pro models rather than the end of the Google AI Plus subscription itself.
According to the notice, Pro-model selection would remain available to Google AI Pro subscribers and higher-tier users.
The reported rollout date has already changed once. MovilZona previously reported an October 9 deadline, but that date passed without the restriction taking effect.
NeoTeo also covered the earlier October schedule, while the latest notice reproduced by Droid Life now lists November 13, 2026.
Flash and Flash-Lite Would Still Be Available
Google AI Plus subscribers would retain access to Flash and Flash-Lite models.
Existing chats that used a Pro model would also remain accessible, although users would need to continue those conversations with another model.
The notice does not specify which replacement model would be used for each conversation.
Google AI Plus vs Google AI Pro
As of October 16, 2026, Google lists the following US prices and plan benefits:
| Plan | Monthly Price | Usage Access vs. Free | Storage | Google Flow Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google AI Plus | $4.99 | 2× | 400 GB | 200 |
| Google AI Pro | $19.99 | 4× | 5 TB | 1,000 |
Moving from Google AI Plus to Google AI Pro would therefore increase the monthly subscription cost by $15.
The plans also differ in usage limits, storage, and Google Flow credits, while the reported notice separately affects access to Pro-model selection.
For Plus subscribers, the decision would come down to whether continued access to Pro models is worth moving from the $4.99 plan to the $19.99 tier, alongside the additional benefits included with Google AI Pro.
