A woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in Central Park Saturday night, according to the NYPD.
A brazen man approached a woman while brandishing a knife before sexually assaulting her inside the park near East 67th Street and Fifth Avenue around 8:30 p.m., cops said.
The woman was rushed to an area hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
The armed thug fled the scene wearing a black sweatshirt and pants with a black backpack, cops said.
Further information was not immediately available Saturday night.
Nearby residents were left shaken after hearing about the heinous assault.
“It’s very concerning for a very great area of New York City, and I’m uneasy with my fiancé walking her dog at night,” local resident Davis Defore told The Post.
Defore, 30, said he was just in Central Park walking his dog Harlow before the scene unfolded.
“I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness.’ It’s literally that same path. I let Harlow out in the field right there to go play,” he recalled.
Another local, 30-year-old Valentina Mizrahi, has lived in the neighborhood since 2021 and said she’s never been scared but her mother recently warned her not to walk alone at night “because it gets ugly” after having a conversation with a nearby hotel doorman.
No arrests have been made as of Saturday night.
