The company also announced that palm and iris (eye) biometric payment is coming soon to the app.
With the biometric launch, PayMore is set to become one of the first consumer apps in the GCC to offer both palm and iris payment in a single app. Users will be able to approve payments with their palm or their eyes instead of typing card numbers, passwords or one-time codes.
The technology is ready, built through PayMore's partnerships with its technology partners. PayMore is running pilots with financial institutions and payment companies that rely on PayMore's systems and data.
Why it matters
Biometric payment is moving fast in the region. Government-led palm and face pilots are already under way in the UAE, and palm-vein rollouts are planned in Saudi Arabia. Most of these projects, however, rely on dedicated terminals or institutional programmes. PayMore is bringing palm and iris payment straight to consumers, in an everyday app built for the region and available in Arabic and English.
What PayMore offers
- Prepaid virtual cards in minutes for online shopping, subscriptions, streaming, gaming and other digital services.
- Built for GCC users, with a full Arabic and English experience.
- Spend control by design. Prepaid cards let users load what they plan to spend and keep their main card details private online.
- Cards issued by a licensed partner. PayMore is the technology platform and does not hold user funds.
- Launching soon on Google Play for Android.
What's coming: palm and iris payment
- Palm payment: approve a payment with your palm.
- Iris payment: approve a payment with a glance.
- Optional by design: biometrics will be optional, and users can continue to pay the usual way.
- Availability: coming soon.
Founder quote
"Paying online in the GCC should be as simple as who you are. With palm and iris payment, our users won't need to remember a password or reach for a card; their hand or a glance will be enough. We're proud to be on track to be among the first in the GCC to bring this to consumers, and we're building it in Arabic and English from day one," said Ali Almosa, Founder and CEO of PayMore.
